Graduation day

This blogpost is written in english so that our sweet american friend Monique will be able to understand it without using google translate.

Yesterday was the day that we have been waiting for (and feared) the whole semester. It was the day of final exams! After a week filled with ambitious studies at the library it was finally time for our knowledge to be put to the test. The three of us took the train to Maison des examens ( House of examinations) in the rainy outskirts of Paris. We were seated in different classrooms, Karin H in Debutant and Monique and Karin A in two different rooms for the Elementaire test. Fully in line with our prior experiences at la Sorbonne the information was.... no information at all. The people in charge at the assembly hall where Karin A unfortunately had been placed didn't even bother to let the students know when the test had started nor did they inform them on what page the dicté could be found until it was all over. Kindly enough they agreed to read it once more (the other students had 15 minutes to prepare and go through the questions in advance, they also heard the story being read twice...). Highly unexpected, Karin H and Monique was asked to fill out an evaluationform about the course. They didn't hesitate to check the box "very bad" on the question "Have the information given by Sorbonne been to your satisfaction?", and this without even knowing what was going on nextdoor in Karin As classroom.

The 3,5 hours flew by and one blackout, thousands of verb conjugations and a banana later it was all over. Karin H had already finished her test a little earlier and went immediately downtown to buy herself a little treat, a knitted cardigan on 50% sale. When Karin A was finished she did the same thing but settled for a french pastry filled with fresh raspberrys.

The graduation had to be celebrated! We invited Monique for a drink. We got a bit sentimental during the evening and decided to take some pictures of the three of us together, as a souvenir for years to come.
We ended up taking 52 pictures, on which there was always at least one of us that looked goofy. Monique even failed to stay in an upright position (all of you who have been to our appartment know that our chairs can be tricky). We finally got ourselfs together and after the photosession the parisian night continued at Le Coeur Fou and Le Pin Up bar and ended up with the three of us asleep on our 140 cm (55 inches) airmattress.

Voilà, nos photos!

/Sara
